Project Finance & Risk Allocation:
- Banks: Banks (New York Green Bank) provide the financial capital needed to develop a solar farm. They need to be confident in the project's financial viability and the experience of the developers.
- Sponsors: Sponsors are the entities that own and operate the solar farm. They need to have a strong financial position and the experience to manage a complex project.
- EPC Contractor: The EPC contractor is responsible for designing, engineering, procuring, and constructing the solar farm. They need to have a proven track record of successfully delivering solar projects.
- Utility/Offtaker: The utility or offtaker (Orange & Rockland) is the entity that will purchase the electricity generated by the solar farm. They need to have a long-term commitment to buying the electricity and a creditworthy financial profile.
- O&M Contractor: The O&M contractor is responsible for operating and maintaining the solar farm. They need to have the expertise to keep the solar farm running smoothly and efficiently.
- Subscriber Management: The subscription manager is responsible for customer acquisition and community solar project revenue services.
All of these partners play a critical role in the development and successful operation of a solar farm. By working with qualified and experienced partners, WR will reduce the risks and improve the chances of success for Warwick community projects.
In addition to the partners mentioned above, there are other stakeholders that can play a role in the development of a solar farm, such as:
- Government agencies: Government agencies can provide financial incentives, land access, and regulatory approvals for solar projects.
- Local communities: Local communities (CABs) can provide support for solar projects and help to mitigate any potential impacts.
- Environmental groups: Environmental groups can help to ensure that solar projects are developed in a sustainable manner.
By working with all of these stakeholders, WR will create solar projects that are beneficial to the environment, the economy, and the Warwick community.
